Pune

Does the thought of Rappelling down a rock face and boulders over a height of 60 feet excite you? If yes, then the right place for you to be in is the Pegasus West campus. And if you choose to be a little more venturesome you can experience this during the monsoon season as the water falls gently while you begin your descent from top of the cliff.

The Pegasus campus is located about 60 kms away from the city center and is located off the Old Pune – Mumbai highway. As you head towards Lonavala from Pune you exit the highway at Kamshet and start your journey through the rural countryside to Uksan village. The first hurdle that will come in your way is the busy Pune – Mumbai Railway line, you could consider yourself extremely lucky if you can cross it without having to wait at the crossing, rest assured you will hit a jackpot if you manage the same on your way back from the campus.

Once past the railway tracks, you drive on meandering roads, through villages, with hill ranges sporting numerous Windmills surrounding you. The journey seems almost endless and is reminiscent of the last couple of lines of Robert Frosts’ poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening that read “And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep”. Rest assured though the bumpy ride will not allow you to take a power-nap, even if you are good at one, and your patience will soon be rewarded as a vast expanse of water comes into view. The lakeside is dotted with beautiful bungalows in various styles and sizes.

Your road journey culminates at the Pegasus campus, where you are about to embark on your journey of learning. The campus spread over about 15 acres is peninsular with imposing hill ranges on the Eastern side. It is a treat to the eyes to watch the day break and see the Sun slowly make its appearance from over this Hill range in the mornings as one sips the morning tea. During your stay in the campus do not miss out on the “Misal-paav” and the “Aloo bonda”, a taste that will linger in your minds even after you have imbibed all the learning through the activities in this period.
