APPRECIATIVE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Appreciative Experiential Learning (AEL) is a neo-classical appreciative approach developed at Pegasus, by blending the Appreciative Inquiry philosophy with Structured Experiential Learning , Isomorphic Reflections, Ancient Meditative Practices, Creative Visualization and World Café. Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as a system of thought is based on social science research that affirms these trends and movements by demonstrating the power of generative images to create a world of hope and possibility. This is not about denying the negative and destructive. It is, rather, about focusing on the positive and creative as a force for building a more positive future.

Structured Experiential Learning (SEL) sensitizes participants to their unconscious competencies by opening the blind and dark quadrants of their Johari Window. When summarized with an AI lens, the results of their experience highlights the life-giving forces of both, the individuals and the Isomorphic reflection sessions, wherein the exhibited behaviours and group dynamics are correlated to the institutional realities, enables them to relate to their work place challenges and build confidence in them that change is sustainable. Ancient meditative practices founded on breath-awareness and quietude lead to creative visualization and helps align individual dreams with collective dreams.

World café is a structured conversational process in which groups of people discuss a topic at several tables, with individuals switching tables periodically and getting introduced to the previous discussion at their new table by a "table host". Each table focuses on designing Structure, Process, People or Culture that will enable the actualision of the Vision. World Café process facilitates the emergence of a collective Organisation Architecture from the design versions of the small teams.
